The "Ghoul-Done Golems" never even met each other as a full team prior to our application.  Jon, Anna, and I have been playing together for a couple of years (and did Pirate BATH last year), but I hadn't met Jon's friend Chris and Chris's girlfriend Yuhua, and nobody besides me had met my friend Josh.  So we communicated by email to solve the pre-clues, sending spreadsheet attachments around to work on the patterns in the ESP test.  When it came to the "creative" piece, it seemed that making a video wasn't going to work for us - all getting together in the same physical location was too challenging.  So Chris took it on himself to construct a "Kaleidocycle", a clever, rotating advertisement for the Golems, using headshots from our application and some very nice graphic design skillz!

I eventually met Chris for a few seconds in person when he handed off the Kaleidocycle for me to deliver to SF, but our first real chance to spend any time together as a full team was at the Iron Puzzler BANG 18 in the Presidio.

We spent some time discussing whether a whisk counts as an eggbeater!

Not an eggbeater       whisk     electric hand mixer   eggbeater

I don't think any of us penalized teams whose puzzle ability outstripped their kitchen gadget taxonomical expertise.

I actually noticed that this was a whisk too, but wasn't about to complain after Chris took this project on single-handedly.

And where on the spectrum is a whisk that is labeled as an "eggbeater" (or in our case, an Eggbeatertron 5000TM)?
